Some of the executions seem interesting enough, but any company trying to control the podcast format is bad for the internet, so I kind of hope this and other efforts like it fail spectacularly.

Plenty to pick apart here, but what sticks out is how easily modern executives completely crumble when confronted by a journalist who’s not going to bow to their wisdom in the name of maintaining access.

suncoast was the best coast
I never bought many actual movies at Suncoast, but did buy plenty of movie-related merchandise. In particular I remember finding reproductions of the scripts for all three (at the time) Star Wars films that quickly became part of my collection.

It’s shocking to me that these kinds of mergers aren’t being rejected *just* based on the number of jobs that are going to be cut as a result of the “efficiencies” identified.
when you intentionally limit your audience
I get that “available resources” is given as the rationale here, but it would seem that every news organization should be working to expand its audience, not cut out entire demographics.

It’s beyond ridiculous that obvious anti-union activity would be considered free speech. It means there’s no line between “business activity” and speech, which is problematic in the long-term.
