More legit competition means everyone will have smaller audiences. It’s up to the parent companies to decide if that’s acceptable or if they just can’t work like this, opting to either buy up other players or fold their cards and go home.

Worrying about password sharing is the kind of thinking that comes from a position that may be too comfortable by half. All these games of exclusivity and restrictions *will* bring piracy back to the forefront, assuming of course media companies don’t sue the tech companies to stop it.

It’s possible streaming will change the fundamental nature of movies. We’ve already seen instances like this in how Spotify and other services have changed music in various ways. But a movie will still be a movie, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
